This page is for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. It explains how the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR apply to pdfgig.com. It adds to our Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible
PDFgig, run from Canada, is the controller for any personal data handled through the site. You can reach us at NagoriTech@gmail.com.
We don't handle your files
PDFgig tools run in your browser. Your files, and any personal data inside them, are only worked on by your own device. They are never uploaded to us, so we don't collect, store or process them.
What we do handle, and why
- Technical request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you open, is handled by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, to send you the site and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.
- OCR engine downloads. When you use the OCR tool, your browser downloads a free text-reading engine from jsDelivr, which receives standard request data. The legal basis is the same legitimate interest, and it only happens when you choose to use OCR.
The OCR tool keeps its downloaded language data in your browser's storage so it doesn't have to download it again. This is needed for the tool you chose, has no personal data in it and stays on your device. We don't use analytics, ads or tracking cookies, we don't build a profile of you, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Data sent outside the EEA
PDFgig is run from Canada, which the European Commission recognizes as protecting personal data to an adequate level. Our service providers run worldwide networks and use their own safeguards when data crosses borders.
How long data is kept
We keep no personal data of our own about visitors. Our providers keep technical logs for as long as their own policies say.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- see the personal data held about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- limit or object to how it is used;
- get a copy of it in a common format;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
Your files never reach us and we have no accounts, so we usually have no personal data to act on. To make a request, email NagoriTech@gmail.com and we'll reply within one month.
